AIG Student Athlete Uses Art to Give Back

Payton Tyndall is the rare athlete who lets her performance speak for itself. A standout pitcher and volleyball player, she brings focus and grit to every play, yet remains one of the most humble students on campus. Beyond the scoreboard, she contributes to our school culture in a more literal sense: as a gifted visual artist, she "moonlights" as a muralist for the media center. Her seasonal window paintings have become a cherished school tradition, providing a vibrant backdrop for her peers while showcasing a creative depth that matches her athletic prowess.

Wallace Rose Hill fosters a dynamic learning environment by offering diverse courses, clubs, and opportunities that cater to students’ individual needs. This helps students discover their passions, develop skills, and achieve success. Duplin County Schools (DCS) stands out with its Pathway with Purpose approach, driven by STEAMA, which supports the unique needs of all students. This allows me to integrate STEAMA into my classroom, providing students with hands-on learning experiences. I offer students opportunities to explore curiosity through collaborative discussions, hands-on activities, and interactive projects, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork to enhance their learning.
