Media Center Policies
Use of Facilities
Student use of Media Resources and Facilities: Students may use the media center before and after school, during lunch, and at other times when approved. A teacher signed media center pass is required during lunch and regular class periods. (It is the responsibility of the teacher to send a signed note with a small group when sending them from the classroom.) As students use the media center, they are required to observe the media center policies, procedures, and rules of behavior.
Media Center Services Available to Students: Students must present a student ID card in order to check out materials from the media center. Regular books will be checked out for a loan period of two (2) weeks and can be renewed if needed. Students may check out a total of three (3) books. Students will be charged the stated value of the book for all lost and damaged books. All fines must be paid to the media coordinator by the end of the school year.
Media Center Computer Use: Computers are available in the media center for student use. Students using the computers should:
- Have a signed Responsible Use Agreement (RUA) on file in the media center.
- Adhere to all of the stipulations set forth in the RUA.
- Have a specific purpose/reason for using the computers.
Required Forms for All Students: Each student is required to sign and have a parent/guardian sign a Responsible Use Agreement (RUA) and a 1:1 Device Agreement form each year. Students will not be allowed to use any computers or Chromebooks at the school until the forms are returned to the media center. Students are also required to have a Media Use and Release Form on file. These forms must only be filled out once during a student’s tenure at WRH.
*Responsible Use Agreement forms may be secured from primetime teachers, subject teachers, or the media coordinator. Additionally, forms are found online on the Duplin County School webpage.
