Hello, I am Jessica Hunter, your school nurse! I graduated from James Sprunt with an Associate Degree Nursing and Applied Science program in 2000. I have been a Registered Nurse for 26 years and provided care to our local Duplin County Community and residents. I have worked at ECU Health-Duplin the last 20 years. I have worked in various healthcare settings within ECU, including Med-Surge, ICU, Float Nurse, Case Management and Rural Health Case Management, and UNC Inpatient Rehabilitational Unit where I specialized in stroke management. My last career change was to teach the Health Science classes at WRH, where I have taught your children the last 4 years. I have taught your children and encouraged them to pursue their dreams into the healthcare arena. My heart has always been to help those in need and share my compassion for nursing. As I take on this new journey as your school nurse, I will do my best to teach your children, keep them healthy, safe and present at school.
You can't educate a student who isn't healthy.....and you can't keep children healthy who aren't educated.
