Driver Education Program
The Driver Education Program at Wallace-Rose Hill High School is designed to prepare students to become safe and responsible drivers. Driving in North Carolina is a privilege, not a right, and all students must meet state and local requirements.

North Carolina Driver Education Requirements
The state of North Carolina requires anyone under the age of 18 to complete a driver education course consisting of:
- At least 30 hours of classroom instruction
- A minimum of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to register for a Driver Education class session, students must:
- Be 14½ years old by the first day of class
- Attend school in Duplin County or be homeschooled in Duplin County
- Have reliable transportation
- Be under 18 years of age
